How to study the bible.

The “principle-based  (Biblical hermeneutics ) and  historical-cultural method (the historical context of any Scripture passage )” is a particular approach introduced a few years ago. We prefer Bible Hermeneutics which is accepting the Bible as the sole way of accepting the truth and acceptable way to study what God wants us to know.

16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:                                                                                                                                          17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good  works.                                                                                                                                2 Timothy 3:16-17 King James Version (KJV)

Paul only had the Old Testament since the new testament was not written yet. It was not until approximant 60 AD that the New Testament was written.  As new light was given the apostles and Paul wrote their Inspired by the Holy Spirit were put into writing.

19 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; where unto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:                                                                                                         20 knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.  21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.)                                                                              2 Peter 1:19-21 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

We can not take one verse   and say this is the total meaning, but must study what other verses verify the true meaning.

13 But the word of the Lord was unto them precept upon precept, precept  upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.                                                   Isaiah 28:13  King James Version (KJV)

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.                                                                                          2 Timothy 2:15     King James Version (KJV)

In John chapter we learn that the God of creation was Jesus . so we can trust all the bible as his unchangeable word.

Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.                                  Hebrews 13:8  King James Version (KJV)

6 For I am the Lord, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.   Malachi 3:6  King James Version (KJV)

17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.                                                                                                          18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be  fulfilled.                                                                           19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.                      Matthew 5:17-19    King James Version (KJV)

Sola Scriptura (by scripture alone in English) is a theological doctrine held by some Protestant Christian denominations that the Christian scriptures are the sole infallible source of authority for Christian faith and practice.
